Nov 28, Ernesto rated it really liked it. It shewed in his collection of trophies and specimens, which were not such as a normal man would accumulate and preserve, and appeared strikingly in the Oriental seclusion in which he kept his wife.
This ancient confirmed every tale which Jermyn had heard, adding his own account of the jermym city and the white apes as it had been told to him.
The family resources were now sadly slender, and Jermyn House had fallen into woeful disrepair, but young Arthur loved the old edifice and all its contents. I like the way he writes.

This is sort of a genealogical mystery with a big reveal at the end. Sir Alfred Jermyn was a baronet before his fourth birthday, but his tastes never matched his title.
Facts Concerning the Late Arthur Jermyn and His Family
Both of Lovecraft’s parents died in a mental hospital, and some writers have seen a concern with having inherited a propensity for physical and mental degeneration reflected in the plot of his stories, especially his novella, The Shadow Over Innsmouthwhich shares some themes with Facts Concerning the Late Arthur Jermyn and His Family. Philip Jermyn saw the light in the Congo, probably among the ruins discovered by his Portuguese grandfather. If not please correct it for me.
